Women in the North Caucasus face serious risks and often become victims of violence but cannot find legal protection either in or outside Russia.
Maria Chashchilova is a lawyer; in 2014, she graduated the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. Maria worked for the Ministry of Interior of the Russian Federation and headed the legal department of an organization affiliated with the Murmansk Region Ministry of Energy. Currently, Maria is a volunteer with the Moscow Community Center and attorney with the Status Consulting Group in Moscow.
