Marta Szczepanik

Holds an MA degree in Psychology from the University of Warsaw and is currently a PhD candidate in Sociology at the Polish Academy of Sciences. Migration expert and researcher with the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, she works on projects related to access to asylum and refugees’ rights, country of origin information (CIS region), internal displacement and labour migration, as well as is engaged in international human rights monitoring projects in the countries of the post-Soviet space, including in conflict zones. She has cooperated with the UNHCR, European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights Agency, International Organization for Migration, Amnesty International, Polish Center for the International Aid and the Polish Red Cross. In 2016 she was a U.S. State Department Professional Visiting Fellow. Author and editor of reports and academic publications in the field of migration, minority rights and sociology of law.
