While the prevention of waste pollution of the marine environment is ensured by several legal documents on international, regional and national levels, the effectiveness of such initiatives is still not clear.
Daria Vasilevskaia is a researcher at the Centre for International and European Studies and Research (CERIC), Aix-Marseille University, France. She is currently working on a PhD thesis on marine plastic pollution. Daria graduated from Moscow State Linguistic University (translation and interpreting), French College of Lomonosov Moscow State University (law and philosophy), Aix-Marseille University (international and European environmental law).
